All girls with pearl earrings

While choosing pearl jewellery for wedding, some girls would go for a full set of pearls: necklace, bracelet, earrings and hair decorations, while others prefer simplicity. However, regardless of your choice of style, a pair of earrings is a must. Earrings are the best representation of feminine beauty. They can off any kind of style: simple and sweet, or kinky and sexy; elegant white swan, or wild black swan. Pearl earrings are the eyes of pearl jewellery, all the representatives of feminine beauty and magic adorn themselves with pearl earrings. There is an enormous variety of pearl earrings styles to choose from. You can find antique pearl earrings that cost up to thousands of pounds, worn perhaps by a princess centuries ago; while you could also go for the mass market freshwater pearl earrings that everyone can afford.

Pearls all come in different colour and overtone, and the nuances allow them to go with different metal fittings. Beige pearls with a cream overtone are usually chosen for gold pearl earrings, while the silver white pearls are to go with silver, white gold or diamond fittings. Black pearl earrings come with silver base more often, although occasionally for black pearls with a warm surface shine, gold base is also a good option.

In terms of form, pearl earrings vary even more. Pearl stud earrings – the most classic simple design being a single pearl on silver or gold post – are probably a ‘must-have’ for every girl. They are elegant and incredibly versatile in style – they go with perfectly any kind of outfit. If you don’t want to spend energy thinking about which earrings to wear for the day, just pick up the pearl ear studs and voila! The nicest look with the least hesitation. If you want to go for a big night out and look totally ravishing, a pair of pearl drop earrings with diamond base is probably the winner. They look gorgeous with either light coloured outfit, or black evening dress – the flexibility of pearls cannot be topped by any other gemstone!

Coco before Chanel

Who hasn’t been influenced by the fascinating Gabrielle Chanel? This tough-minded, audacious girl who grew up in an orphage nick named “Coco” (as in “coco rico”) was named one of the 100 most influential people of the 20th Century.

Chanel and Pearl Necklace

In an era of extremely heavy fashion with feathers, flowers and carbaret, where women suffocate themselves with corsets and tight dresses, Chanel stood out with her almost “bizarre” style and called for simplicity. “Simplicity is the keynote of all true elegance.” said Chanel, “you must feel comfortable and free in what you are wearing”.

Her little black dress, classic cut suits with a simple and chic long strand of pearl necklace have inspired top designers such as Helmut Lang, Miuccia Prada, Jil Sander and Tom Ford. But even more important, she brought the fabrics and comfort of menswear to women’s style, freeing ladies from clothes that constrained them.

What Chanel achieved was an EVOLUTION, replacing discomfort with freedom of the body; adopting a simple white pearl necklace instead of colourful feathers and lace..there is an amazing sincereness and boldness in Chanel’s creations that it has changed the way everybody dresses – until today.

Printemps…baroque pearls and gemstones bracelet

"Printemps" by Carla pearls

"Printemps" by Carla pearls

Spring is my favorite season of the year (although in the UK Spring carries on all the way into Autumn as we never really have a summer!). The thing i love the most about Spring is its colours – and the set of jewellery at Carla Pearls named “Printemps” (“Spring” in French) expressed the colours and the joy of this season very adequately. Lively white baroque pearls are accompanied by a variety of gemstones: from green jade to amythests, from rose quartz to other coloured crystals…the three strand bracelet is fitted with a 925 silver slide clasp that never goes old – when it gets a little dark just brush it up with a metal cleansing cloth that you can find at every jeweler’s shop.

I love baroque pearls as they have such a lively touch to them, and they look especially beautiful when worn with several strands twisted together: their shapes allow them to “merge” into each other better than perfectly round pearls and create a harmonious look.

“Printemps” come in three pieces: the bracelet, the necklace and the earrings. To view the collection click here.

Aïsha, Aïsha, regardes moi…

Aïsha is one of my favorite French songs (you can find it on Youtube) and so is this set of pearl & gemstone necklace & earrings dedicated to the lady in the song. It is elegant, chic and mysterious: a combination of cream disc pearls, gold-plated beads and stick-shaped smoky quartz. A gold-plated Japanese magnet clasp makes the necklace very easy to put on – very useful especially when no one is around to help! The necklace is of a popular princess length (18″ or 46 cm) that hangs beautifully below your neck. The earrings are fitted with 9ct gold hooks.
The pearls in this parure are beige coloured disc pearls with excellent lustre and a beautiful cream overtone…The subtleness of the style of this set will never go out of date.
